Simple, Flexible, and Documented UCO Collection for Your Business

Astra Sage makes used cooking oil collection practical for suppliers. We can support drum-swap arrangements, plan pickups around your operating convenience, and provide a more structured handover process with proper documentation. Our goal is to make collection easy for your kitchen while maintaining traceability, safety, and logistics efficiency.

| How It Works

A Collection Process Designed Around Real Kitchen Operations

Astra Sage understands that suppliers need a process that is practical, clean, and easy to manage. Our collection model is built to reduce disruption to your operations while ensuring UCO is handed over through a more structured and traceable process.

This means we do not just collect oil. We help you plan storage, collection timing, handover, and documentation in a way that supports both operational convenience and responsible waste management.

| What Suppliers Need to Know

Built for Convenience, Backed by Operational Discipline

Drum Swap Option

Where suitable for the site, Astra Sage can support a drum-swap arrangement. This means filled containers can be removed and replaced with empty, ready-to-use containers during collection, helping suppliers maintain continuity and cleaner housekeeping.

Pickup Planned Around Your Convenience

We can plan collection of drums or pails based on the supplier’s operational convenience, storage situation, and accumulation pattern. Whether your site requires routine pickups or more flexible scheduling, we aim to align collection with how your kitchen actually operates.

Minimum Quantity for Efficient Pickup

For logistics efficiency, Astra Sage prefers to collect more than 50 kg of UCO per pickup. If the accumulated quantity is below this level, collection may be deferred until a commercially viable quantity is available, unless otherwise agreed.

Documented Handover

Each collection event should be properly documented. Astra Sage issues a collection receipt and related handover records so the supplier has a clear record of what was collected, when it was handed over, and through which controlled process it moved.

| The Process

How Astra Sage Collects Your Used Cooking Oil

1
You Segregate and Store the UCO Properly

Store used cooking oil separately from fresh oil, chemicals, grease-trap waste, water, and other non-UCO materials. Keep it in suitable containers, under cover, and protected from rain, flooding, pests, and contamination.

2
You Notify Astra Sage When the Oil Is Ready

Notify Astra Sage when your accumulated UCO is ready for collection. The service agreement provides for at least 2 calendar days’ notice, unless a shorter lead time is agreed.

3
We Schedule Pickup Around Your Site Needs

Astra Sage plans the collection based on your operating needs, storage setup, and available quantity. We can coordinate collection of drums or pails and, where suitable, support drum-swap arrangements.

4
We Inspect and Collect the Material

At pickup, Astra Sage may visually inspect, sample, or otherwise verify the material before or during loading. This helps confirm that the material is genuine UCO and suitable for collection.

5
You Receive a Collection Receipt

Your representative signs the handover documentation, and Astra Sage issues a collection receipt or related supporting records. This creates a documented chain of custody for the material.

6
The UCO Moves Through a Controlled Downstream Pathway

After collection, accepted UCO is moved through Astra Sage’s controlled process for lawful handling, storage, and onward use in responsible industrial pathways.

| Supplier Responsibilities

What We Need From You for Smooth Collection

To keep the process efficient, safe, and compliant, Astra Sage asks suppliers to follow a few simple requirements.

Segregate UCO from fresh oil and all non-UCO materials

Store UCO in suitable containers

Protect it from water ingress, rain, flooding, and contamination

Keep excessive solids, food scraps, bones, packaging, and foreign matter out of the oil

Provide safe access to the storage and loading area on collection day

Notify Astra Sage when the oil is ready for pickup

Maintain reasonable site conditions for collection personnel

These basics help prevent rejection, reduce delays, and keep the handover process straightforward.

| Quality and Acceptance

What Astra Sage Cannot Accept

Astra Sage may reject material that is unsafe, contaminated, non-conforming, or improperly declared. This includes oil mixed with fresh oil, grease-trap waste, chemicals, solvents, mineral oil, excessive water, excessive sludge, or abnormal foreign matter. Astra Sage may also reject material where documentation is unreliable or site conditions are unsafe.

Genuine UCO, stored properly, documented properly, and ready in a commercially viable quantity is the best way to ensure smooth collection.
